Watch Video TributePeggy Case Worthington, 66, of Midland passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.Peggy was born on November 7, 1952 to Lorene and Earl Case in Leachville, AR. The family moved to Hoxie, AR and Peggy graduated high school in nearby Walnut Ridge. She later graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a degree in Education.Shortly afterwards she moved to the Dallas, TX area and was introduced to land work in the oil and gas industry, working for companies such as Max Williams and Penn Resources. While working as an Independent Landman, she was contracted and later hired full time with ARCO Oil and Gas, and was transferred to Midland in 1989. She was offered a severance package in 2000 and struck out again forming Sundial Energy with partners. Not giving up, she held short positions or did contract work for other companies before accepting a position with Samson Resources in Tulsa, OK. Samson moved her back to Midland in 2002 to open a new exploration office where she helped grow the business. In 2005, she was approached to again join a startup, Bold Energy, where she stayed until she retired in 2017. Failure was never an option; she saw obstacles as lessons and ways to improve. She said the key to a successful career is to find something you love to do and do your best every day. She did just that. She loved the oil and gas industry and the friendships, lessons, and trials endured along the way. Peggy was a mentor to many young Landmen and was known for her integrity, honest and creative business dealings, and participation in local and national Landman organizations. She was also involved in numerous charitable organizations such as United Way and Meals On Wheels, and served as Chairman for the Board for the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center.Peggy’s life was lived on her solid foundation with Christ. She claimed Psalms 16:11. Her prayer states, “I know how precious each day is and thank you Father for knowing the exact time that I will be with you. I am thankful in knowing You are the center of my life of all things in this earth. May we listen and turn from our sinful ways and be a nation under God.”In retirement, she loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved to travel and play golf with her husband and her special friends from Greentree CC, but mostly loved her land, condos and friends at Lajitas and the Big Bend. Survivors include her husband, Ralph Worthington of Midland, daughter Vickie Doss (Zach), their children Wyatt and Emily of Midland, sister Judy Covington (Louis) of Haughton, LA, nephews Casey (Lacy) of Little Rock, AR, Jordan (Amanda) of Haughton, LA, stepson Geoff Worthington (Christy) and son Zane of Ottawa, OH, stepdaughter Karen Summers (Joseph) and children Nicholas and Joshua of Midland, and stepson Bradley Worthington of Boulder, CO, along with many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her dear friend Eileen Elias. The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Branch at NPW. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Stonegate Fellowship in Midland. A reception will follow at the Petroleum Club of Midland. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center.
