Pat was born on March, 22, 1954 in Odessa, TX to Norma Jo Burden and Donald Gene Carter. Pat worked at D&L Sports and Trophy, owned by his father Don Carter and also attended Odessa College. January, 27, 1995 he married Lynn Coleman celebrating 25 years together. In 2005 Pat attended Midland College for his nursing degree and worked for Martin County Hospital and as a Home Health Nurse. He enjoyed the relationships he created with each of his patients. Pat always had a heart of servanthood. He lived to serve other people with his time, resources and attentiveness, always treating others as he wanted to be treated. He loved to vacation to the beach, the mountains or lake house property to relax and enjoy life. Pat loved a good action movie. More than anything else, he loved his beautiful wife, loving kids, loyal friends and uplifting church family. Pat enjoyed mentoring others. His passion for shooting and security lead him to start his own business, Guardian PI Inc. This legacy truly embraced the man that he always strived to be. Successful, great work ethic and protecting all of those around him.

Pat survived by his wife, Lynn Carter; his daughters, Jaime Jalain Bagley of Weatherford, TX, Laura Macias of Moore, OK, and John Charles of Milan, Italy, James Coleman of Ocean Side, CA, Lindsey Ramirez of Midland, TX, and Eric Coleman of Nashville, TN; 16 grandchildren, Kylee and Chandler Bagley; Bailey, Callie and Caleb Macias; Grace, John James and Gloria Sellitto; Gavin New and Caden Archer; Milla Coleman; Kaitlyn Varni, Kimberly Connolly, Carter Coleman, McKenzie Moss and Cash Perkins; brother, Jo Don Carter and wife Stephanie Carter of Odessa, TX; and nephews, Zachery Carter of Odessa, TX, Nathaniel Carter and David Carter of Colorado Springs, CO.
