Manuel M. Aguirre departed the world of the living to walk the streets of heaven on January 28th, 2019. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 11:00AM to 9:00PM with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 PM, Friday February 1, 2019 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch funeral home. The funeral mass will be officiated by Fr. Freddy Perez at 10:00am, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Midland TX.Born Manuel Madrid Aguirre on March 4th, 1941, in Marfa Texas, to Sabino and Tomasa Aguirre. He was the second youngest of eight children, he is predeceased by his beloved wife, Lydia Fuentes Aguirre, his parents, as well as all of his siblings.While growing up in Marfa he met the woman who he would later marry and cherish the rest of his life, Lydia Machuca Fuentes. They became boyfriend and girlfriend when she was 13 and he 14 and would spend the next 54 years of their lives together. He loved her with every fiber of his being and, when she passed away, his primary focus was to one day be reunited with her. They were married in Marfa TX on September 24th, 1960 and ultimately settled in Midland Texas and started their family. He is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter and their families; Mario F. Aguirre (wife Irma) and their children Mario, Christina, Michelle and Kaleb; Noel F. Aguirre (wife Linda) and their children, Priscella, Angelina, Paula and Noel; Noemi A. Dominguez (husband Robert) and their children, Jennifer, Stephanie and Manuel; Joel F. Aguirre (wife Melissa) and their children, Miranda, Micaela and Mirayah. Also a niece, Anita D. Valles (husband Ramon) and nephew Gilbert F. Porras both of whom he cherished as his own; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, as well as a great multitude of friends all of whom he cared for dearly.He was an extremely strong and proud man who instilled those traits in all of us. We now rely on that strength to see us through this most difficult time.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland TX.
