Laura Bell Urban

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Laura Bell Urban, 89, who passed away on October 27, 2020 in Midland, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Midland. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Laura was born in Perryton, Texas to Charlie A and Verlie Ester Thompson on June 5, 1931. She married Henry Joe Urban on September 13, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas. They were happily married for 61 years. She and Henry have been members of St. Luke’s for 53 years where she and her family attended services and Sunday school, hosting many events in their home.

She was an integral member of Terry’s Coffee Shop, downtown Midland for many years.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, son, Larry Emil Urban, her sisters, Shirley Havlik, Ruby Burger and brother, Ralph Thompson.

Laura is survived by husband, Henry Urban, children Marsha Jarzombek (Larry), Terry Urban (Gregg), Alton Urban, Sondra Urban, Daughters-in-Law Debra Urban and Cheryl Urban. Grandchildren include: Chris, Curtis, Patrick, Darcy, Jennifer, Katie, and Elizabeth. Laura is also survived by great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild and many close friends.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice.
