Helen Josephine Shaffer Talley

Helen Josephine Shaffer Talley, 90, of Easley, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in Easley, South Carolina. Graveside funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Monday, March 12, 2001, with Rev. James Carter, officiating. She was born on June 14, 1910 in Rudolph, Ohio and married Louis G. Talley on January 12, 1932 in Electra, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1969. Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Big Spring, where she served as organist and deaconess. She worked for eighteen years in civil service at the former Webb Air Force Base, retiring in 1972. She had attended Trinity University in Waxahachie. Survivors include her daughter, Myrna Moore of Pendleton, South Carolina; four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
