Harold “Guy” Gaida Talbot passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Dallas, Texas, after a lengthy battle with cancer.He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorraine Talbot; his in-laws, Lloyd and Marguerite Hardy; and his brother- in- law, Steve Bell. He is survived by his wife, Paula Talbot; his daughter, Neiman Talbot Hill and her husband, Lance and their children, Bryce and Tate; his brother, Clif and his wife, Elaine; sister- in- law Reta Bell; two nieces, Stephanie Irons (Coye) and Krystal McDaniel (Brandon); and five great- nieces, Jillian, Jocie, and Jensen Dobbs, and Lawson and Katie McDaniel.Guy was born in Big Spring, Texas on October 19, 1946 to Lorraine and Harold Talbot of Big Spring. He graduated Big Spring High School in 1964 and graduated from Angelo State University with a major in business.Guy met and married Paula Talbot on February 21, 1970 and they were married for 50 years. They had a daughter, Neiman, and spent their lives in Big Spring.Guy worked as a private investigator for two district attorneys in Big Spring followed by the Adult Probation Officer of Howard County. He then started and led Talbot Properties, which was a conglomerate of commercial and residential real estate, farm, ranch, and oil and gas entities.Guy adored his family above all else, followed by his numerous friends. He never met a stranger! Guy also loved the outdoors and everything it offered including hunting and fishing. He loved to dance to country western music. He was extremely generous with his success, proud of his family and the people around him, a wonderful father, husband and grandfather and was sharp as a tack. His witty banter made being around him easy and we will miss him desperately.Guy’s favorite charities were St. Jude Children’s Hospital, MS Society, and Make A Wish Foundation.Pallbearers are his closest friends, Dick Irons, Coye Conner, Rick Hamby, and Terry McDaniel.The family had a private burial due to the coronavirus outbreak and will host a celebration of life at a later date.,
