Ervin Baumann, 88, of Midland passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019. A visitation will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Ervin was born on December 26, 1930 in Midland, Texas to Lydia and Arthur Baumann. Ervin graduated from Midland High school in 1949. He then attended Agriculture and Mechanical College of Texas (Texas A and M University), graduating with a bachelor in Science in 1953. He married the love of his life Norma Gwyn of Midland and went on to serve his country as an officer in the Air Force. Ervin retired in 1959 from military service in 1959 to take over the family farm. He became an important part of the Midland County farming community for the last 60 years. Ervin was also a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church.Ervin is survived by wife of 65 years Norma Gwyn Baumann. Son Jon Baumann, his wife Kelli. Grandchildren Brandon Edwards, Harrison Baumann, Margeaux Mahmoud, her husband Adam. Great-grandchildren Aadi Edwards, Gabriel Mahmoud, Daniel Mahmoud. Sister Ann Poteet, nephew Chris Poteet.He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lydia Baumann. Son Doug Baumann.The family would like to express their gratitude towards the hospital staff of Midland Memorial and the Grace Lutheran Church family.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Baumann Scholarship Fund at Grace Lutheran Church.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
