Winford Clyde "W.C." Odell, 87, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 4, 2011, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Monroe Teeters, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at 2:00 PM.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.W.C. was born on February 25, 1924, in Lenorah, Texas and married Mary Belle Hildreth on August 25, 1941 in Big Spring. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II and was stationed at Webb Air Force Base. He and his wife worked in several places around Texas and New Mexico. He retired as a Maintence Technician for Montgomery Wards.W.C. was a Christian and a faithful member of Berea Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary Odell of Big Spring; two sons, Ronald Odell and wife, Patsy of Amarillo, and David Odell and wife, Susan of Westminister, Colorado; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Odell and wife, Rosie of Enterprise, Alabama; one sister, Betty May Fuller and husband, James of Clifton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Winford was preceded in death by his parents William and Annie (Reid) Odell; seven brothers and two sisters.
