She was born to Alma Kropf Gorges and Anthony Gorges in Springfield, Missouri, on January 19, 1929. She lost her mother in a tragic car accident as an infant and was raised by her loving grandmother, Ella Kropf. She worked at the Midland County Courthouse for Judge Pine and for Bill Dillon at State Farm Insurance for many years. As a single mom, Dorothy was devoted to her children and was a great mother, provider, role model, friend and cheerleader. In 1993, Dorothy met and married Leon O. Lloyd of Midland. They spent 11 wonderful years with each other. They enjoyed friends and family, volunteering, travelling in their RV and listening to music. She was blessed with many dear friends throughout her life and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge weekly but especially loved playing card games with her grandchildren. She had a passion for antiques and was always excited about the old treasures she found.Sadly, Dorothy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and after Leon’s death moved to Manor Park where she received over ten years of dedicated and loving care.
