He graduated from Kaplan University with an Apprentice Electrician Texas License. Corporal Mauricio P. Luna, Jr. was enlisted in the Marines (USMC) from June 15, 1999 to June 20, 2003. Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations, and Campaign Ribbons Awarded or Authorized are as follow: Rifle Expert Badge (2nd awd); Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; and a Letter of Appreciation. Mauricio was an outstanding Electrician, he had an eye for detail which allowed him to grow in doing what he loved. He had a sense of humor that was both sarcastic and hilarious, and he loved to golf, fish, and hunt every chance he could. His low-key hobbies were to build or assemble model cars, military planes and tanks. He loved to cook on the bbq pit for the crew (his co-workers) at Basin Electric & Technology before he became ill. He truly had a passion for his work because the way he would talk about a day at work was captivating. He enjoyed family time because someone was always laughing. He was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle.Mauricio is survived and will be missed dearly by his parents Mauricio Luna, Sr. and Eledesma Padilla, of Midland, TX; sisters Sonya Luna and Julieta P. Carrasco of Midland, TX; nephews Miguel Angel Gomez, Jr. and Noah Lopez of Midland, TX; and his niece Socorro E.
