Billy Gene Freeman beloved husband, father, grandfather, nephew, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, departed for the heavenly plain Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the age of 80. Celebration of his life will be 10:00am Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland.He was born March 30, 1938 in Big Spring, Texas to Vernon and Lillie Mae Freeman. Billy began his career as a Sears technician at the age of 29 and retired with 30 years of service.While working at Sears, he met the love of his life, Mary Helen Carter, in 1977. After 10 years of dating, Billy and Mary were married in 1986. They joined their families after their marriage with his son, Barron, and Mary’s daughter, Tangi.Billy loved watching sports, the news and his favorite soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys and he wore his jersey at every game he watched to make sure they would win! He was the most humble and loving man you would ever meet and he never missed an opportunity to tell you he loved you.He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Geraldine Edwards; and sister, Addie Maddison.He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary; son, Barron Freeman; daughter, Tangi Dickens; two sisters, Jessie Morris and Vernie Franklin; his favorite cousin, Caroline Sue Haywood; and grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
