R.M, later nicknamed Jimmy by the pastor’s wife, was born to Henry and Eloise Scott Moore on October 20, 1935 in Houston Texas. He moved to Big Spring in 1943 where he later met the love of his life. He married Imogene Daw January 27, 1956. Together they raised four beautiful daughters. He established his own masonry company “Moore Construction” which led to working for the Edwards Brothers Ranch where he played a key role in the construction of the castle “Toad Hall”, as well as being a crew member on the Naval 75th anniversary commemorative PBY flight. He remained employed by the Edwards Ranch until the time he met his savior.
Jimmy was a man of many talents, he could build or repair anything. A few special moments in his family’s lives were sitting together on the front porch singing while Jimmy played his guitar, cornet, or harmonica. The memory of taking one of his daughters to the barber shop with him also leaves a lasting impression. He was raised in the Salvation Army Church where he was a soldier for God, and he will be missed beyond comparison.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Imogene Moore of Big Spring, TX; daughters, Deborah Walton and husband, Dan Walton of Big Spring, TX, Kathy Henry and husband, Bill Henry of Hawley, TX, Penny Owensby Powers and husband, Marvin Powers of Abilene, TX, and Tammy Allen and husband, Mark Allen of Big Spring, TX.
