Nellie Ida Alexander

Nellie Ida Alexander, 97, of Big Spring, died on Monday, February 28, 2005, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Pat Ray, pastor of Prairie View Baptist Church, officiating.She was born on April 22, 1907, in Stamford, Texas and married Aril Alexander on December 30, 1962 in Salinas, California. He preceded her in death in 1971.Mrs. Alexander was employed with Peter Ray Produce Company in Salinas, California for 25 years before retiring. She came to Big Spring in late 1970's. She was of the Assembly of God faith.Survivors include one nephew, Ray Russell of Big Spring and five nieces, Faye Buckingham of Georgetown, Delores Collins of Lubbock, Claudene Young and Mickey Cardwell both of California and Melba Dement of Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by her parents, H. G. and Ida Parker Russell; one brother, C. J. Russell and three sisters, Bonnie Cardwell, Lois McCarty and Daisy White.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
