Martha A. Dwyer passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, after putting up a valiant fight following heart attacks and open-heart surgery.Martha was born on March 22, 1936 to Bernie and Margaret Bollman in Shawnee, Oklahoma and lived in Midland since 1956. She was a tireless volunteer and loved taking care of people. She was instrumental in bringing Camp Fire Girls to Midland, and she was a Bluebird and Camp Fire Girls leader for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Desk and Derrick Club, and loved being a long-time volunteer “Pink Lady” at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was a receptionist at Manor Park for 22 years where she thought of the residents, not as a job, but as family. She was always a happy smiling face when someone walked in, and the wonderful people who live and have lived there loved her and looked forward to each day when she was there. She always remembered what was important to each person and would have done anything for any of them. With her kind and giving heart, she did lots of things she deemed “little” to make life more special for those with whom she interacted, especially those whose families were not always close. She lived her entire life with and for her family. Martha was described by her grandchildren as “the most selfless family lady,” “someone who lit up a room with her warmth and made you happy just to be around her,” and a “true blessing.” She was always around to help when one of her children or grandchildren – or great-grandchildren – needed her. She dropped everything to help take care of her family. For Christmas this year, Martha made a trip to Colorado where she was able to spend time with family and to see her new great-granddaughter and her great-grandson.Martha leaves behind her children, Marlynn LaGreca (and husband, Kenny), Missy Dwyer, Tom Verne Dwyer, grandchildren, Stephen LaGreca (and wife, Nichole), David LaGreca (and wife, Amy), Michelle Lavoie (and husband, Paul), and Nikki Dwyer, and great-grandchildren, Julian LaGreca and Aria Lavoie, along with new grandchildren, Chynna Stueber, Maebry White, and Cate Totzke, her beloved dog, Bailey, other family, and many, many friends.Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home located at 3800 N. Big Spring, Midland, TX 79705.Her service will be on Friday at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church located at 800 W. Texas Ave., Midland, TX 79701.
