Marion Morgan, 85, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rick Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, July 3, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Marion was born February 16, 1929 in Howard County and married La Nell Thompson February 18, 1977 in Lovington, NM. Marion was a Corpsman in the United States Army and held several jobs retiring at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. He is survived by his wife, La Nell Morgan of Big Spring; daughter, Sherry Yezak of San Antonio; son, James Morgan and wife, Barbara of Big Spring; two step-sons, Rex Moore of Big Spring, and Ricky Moore of Lincoln, MT; step-daughter, Renee Thompson-Wilson and husband, Matt of Carlsbad, CA; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Pierson Morgan; mother, Jewel Dean Morgan Snodgrass; and step-father, Earl Snodgrass. The family suggests memorials be made to the 14th and Main Church of Chirst or Compass Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
