Maria Inez Casillas, 57, of Stanton, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020, in a Midland hospital. Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 13, 2020, at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel.She was born December 27, 1962 in Tlahualilo, Durango, Mexico and married Cosme Casillas May 17, 1980 in Mexico.Maria grew up in Mexico and moved to Texas in 1980 after marrying. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking and gardening.She was a member of Iglesia Bautista Betezda in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was very loving and generous and enjoyed helping at the church and cooking for those in need.Survivors include her husband, Cosme Casillas of Stanton; two sons, Cosme “Coz” Casillas, Jr. and wife, Serena of Andrews, and Abel Casillas and wife Christina of Midland; two daughters, Martha Gil and husband, Chris of Odessa, and Elizabeth Casillas and husband, Cesar Garcia of Friona; her mother, Consuelo Alarcon Muniz of Mexico; 11 grandchildren; one brother; and seven sisters.She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Alarcon.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.
