Marie M. Petronella, 80, of Midland passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018, in Midland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 18, 2018, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Midland, Texas.
Marie was born on August 15, 1937 in Houston, to Walter and Myrtle Marburger. She was loving and a nurturing person. She loved gardening and could make anything grow. She loved to dance and was a model in her younger years. She worked as a nurse’s aide in the 70’s, working in several nursing homes.
Marie was married for 58 years to her husband, Joseph. They had 1 stepdaughter and 4 sons. She and Joseph were simply known as Mom and Pop to all of their sons’ friends. They were always there with a place to stay, a meal, money and advice.
She is survived by her 4 sons, John Petronella, Walter Pertonella and his wife, Terri, Dominick and his wife Lisa Petronella, Michael and wife Shannon Petronella; her step-daughter, Rebecca Ayers; a sister, Nancy Sherman; her aunt, Lucille Cassell; 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Petronella, pictured above; her parents, her sister, Barbera Busic; and her brother, Walter Marburger.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Dr. Manish Dimri, the staff of MMH, Home Hospice Midland, EMT’s and Officers who responded when called. Thank you one and all for your outstanding professionalism and understanding. We would also like to thank David Ives of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home for all he has done to make this time a little easier to get through.
