Loie Edward “Pop” Badgett, 77 of Andrews, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 surrounded by his family in Midland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 am at Alamo Heights Baptist Church in Midland.Loie was born on January 30, 1940 to Averill and Hester Badgett in Stanton, TX. Loie was a good 'ole country boy with a kind soul, who never met a stranger. He grew up in Martin County and was a true Stanton Buffalo. He played football and basketball and was a great athlete. Loie owned and operated his own business for the last 35+ years. Badgett Construction and Maintenance, where he took great pride in his work. His pride and joy was his tractors, and oh how he loved operating his tractors. Loie worked for Chevron Pipeline for 11 years and retired. Working to live was his choice of fulfillment. Loie has been a member at Alamo Heights Baptist Church for many years. Loie loved old western movies and watched them over and over again. He was a big John Wayne fan and had a Will Rogers Personality. Loie loved playing dominoes, fly fishing, and just spending time with family and friends. We always knew if he called us by our full name, we were in \BIG\ trouble. He would bang on our doors and say, \are you up getting ready for church?\ He was a wonderful Dad, Pop, Husband, and Friend.He is survived by his wife, Virginia Nall Badgett of Andrews; daughters, Tami Yonts & Clint of Midland and Kelli Wink & Kevin of Pecos; son, Keith Badgett & Cindi of Andrews; 8 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Billy Ray Badgett wife Doris, and Sammy Jo Badgett and wife Carol; brother-in-law, Royce Hamilton; sister-in-law, LaRue Yates; 4 stepsons, Carroll Nall, Jr. & Becky, James Nall & Sharilyn, Douglas Nall & Donna, and Ralph Nall & Marla. He is preceded in death by dad, Olen Hester Badgett, mom, Averill Lois Badgett, sister, Latricia Hamilton, and former wife, LouAnn Adkins Badgett.Pallbearers will be Chris Yonts, Trevor Badgett, and Josh Hastings. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Hays, Andrew Peterson, Casen Yonts, Rowdy Hays, Maddux Hastings, Jaye Yonts, and Jeremiah Yonts.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to Christmas in Action or your favorite charity.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.,
