Kathryn Craig Thigpen, 90, of Big Spring, died on Monday, March 25, 2002, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ken McMeans, pastor of College Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Born Anna Kathryn Craig on September 19, 1911 in El Paso, Texas, she was the daughter of Samuel and Bertha Craig. She married Thomas Alvin Thigpen on June 10, 1934 in Sweetwater, Texas and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1984. Mrs. Thigpen grew up in Abilene, graduated from high school there and attended Abilene Christian College. She moved to Big Spring in 1941 and worked at the local Air Base during World War II while her husband was in the Navy and later worked at the VA Hospital. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her son, Thomas A. Thigpen of Beaumont; her sister, Arian Coffee of Big Spring; two granddaughters, Mary Kathryn Hembree of Campo Bella, North Carolina and Tommie Ann Hagin of Monroe, North Carolina and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
