Manuel “Apa” Segura, 65, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 surrounded by his family. Rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 7:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Midland. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Manuel was born on August 26, 1953 to Conrado and Alberta Chavez. He came to Midland in 1980, and worked as a carpet layer for about 15 years, then worked as a painter until he retired in 2017. He married the love of his life on June 8th, 1982. Manuel enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren, and was known to them as “Apa”. He also loved watching the Texas Rangers, and enjoyed listening to Norteno music.
He is survived by his wife, Delia Segura; sons: Roy Ramirez, David Ramirez, Tommy Ramirez, and Sonny Hernandez, three daughters; Martha Orozco, Lisa Heard, Tina Morris. One brother: Fidencio Estrada, and one sister. Grandkids: Roy Jr. Ramirez, Michelle Orozco, Patricia Rodriquez, Javier Orozco, DeAnn Stanley, Roy Carrasco Jr., Tabatha Nunez, Joseph Campos, Jeremy Campos, Alex Gavia, Christina Posley, Ayianna Posley and Gabby Orozco; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father: Conrado and Alberta Chavez, Children: Greg Ramirez and Albert Gavia, and three sisters.
