Jesse James Harkness, 45, of Sweetwater died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his residence. His services will be private.

Jesse would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long while. Job security is exactly 110%. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he can socialize, cook, fish, camp and throw treats to his dog, Earl. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. The food is delicious, as he will be cooking it himself! He left detailed instructions for Karen Harkness, friends, and family to celebrate his mission here which is now complete. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, Ben Harkness of Indiana; 3 step-children, Brittany Fletcher, Kenneth Kilness, and Austin Kilness all of Roswell, NM; 6 grandchildren, Carlee, Zaedyn, Kristopher, Koty, Hunter, and Kenneth; his father and mother-in-law Ralph and Joy Rodibaugh; his mother, Glenna Cooper of Roswell; and brothers, Richard, Raymond, Mike, and Josh; a step-dad, Tom Cooper; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and amazing friends.

Jesse is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Allen Harkness; his grandparents and his dog, Earl.

The family suggests memorials to be made to their favorite church or charity.

Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com
