Graveside services will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, December 7, 2018 at the funeral home.Jackie was born December 27, 1933 in Dallas and married Bob Simpson May 10, 1952. He preceded her in death April 15, 2002. Jackie, the daughter of Archie and Genevieve Marchant, lived in Lubbock until the age of 7 and then moved to Big Spring. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as the church organist for over 30 years. She was celebrated as an Elder Emeritus, often delivering Communion to the elderly and home-bound. She was active in Isaiah 58. After raising her family, she completed an Associate Degree in Business at Howard College, worked at the Big Spring State Hospital as a Staff Development Coordinator, eventually retiring from there.Jackie is survived by a son, Chris Simpson and wife, Rhonda of Big Spring; a daughter, Gina Elson of Austin; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Simpson, Melanie Hickman, Travis Simpson, John Elson, Ginger Melton, Sara Elson and husband, Stephen Adams; 2 great-grandchildren, Kara and Madison Melton; and 2 sisters-in-law, Kay Simpson and Barbara Marchant Elliott.In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ricky Simpson; a brother, Charlie; 4 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law. She will be missed by friends and family.The family suggests memorials be sent to Isaiah 58, 809 Scurry St., Big Spring, TX 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
