Sherrod, Homer Dee, 79, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2001, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2001, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on September 27, 1921 in Breckenridge, Texas and married Jessie Tolar on October 26, 1946 in Long Beach, California. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1988. Mr. Sherrod had lived in Big Spring for over 50 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters for 53 years. He served as an infantryman in the United States Army during World War II in Europe, Sicily, and North Africa. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Sherrod of Fort Worth; two daughters, Jodi Hardin of Fort Worth and Lori Sherrod of Arlington; one grandson, Matthew Sherrod of Fort Worth; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Sherrod of Fort Worth and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death also by one son, Gregory Sherrod, in 1994. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
