Fines C. Martin

Fines C. Martin, 92, of Midland, died on Thursday, November 8, 2001, in a Big Spring hospital. Masonic graveside rites will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2001, at the East End Cemetery in Lingleville. Mr. Martin was born on June 29, 1909 in Jones County, Texas and married Kathryn Owens on May 29, 1963 in Midland, Texas. He worked as a peace officer and had served as Sheriff in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was also a self employed painter. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Midland. Mr. Martin was also a member of the Duncan Masonic Lodge #60, A. F. & A. M. He served in the Seabees during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Martin of Midland; one son, Fines Faye Martin of Kingwood; one daughter, Martice Rankin of Findlay, Ohio; two step-daughters, Tommie Bourland of Granbury and Carolyn Schoolcraft of Stanton; two brothers, Delbert Martin and A. T. Martin both of Tyler; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
