Hood, Curtis, 87, of Big Spring, died on Friday, August 18, 2000, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 21, 2000, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Roger Huff, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on December 19, 1912 in Georgetown, Texas and married Elma Evelyn Holland on August 20, 1940 in Big Spring, Texas. He came to Big Spring in 1932 and worked for the Texas & Pacific Railroad for thirty five and a half years as a switchman until retiring. Mr. Hood was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and the United Transportation Union. Survivors include his wife, Elma Hood of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Don and Kathy Hood of San Angelo; one daughter, Teresa Luann Hood of Big Spring; four grandchildren; Debra Malone of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Joey Mauldin of Royal Palm, Florida, Kim Scott and her husband, Kevin of San Angelo and Nikki Hood of McKinney; six great-grandchildren; a niece, Irene Cramer and a nephew, Charles Hood both of Big Spring. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The family suggests memorials to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 1400 Lancaster, Big Spring, Texas 79720. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
