Charles Neil Fryar, 72, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2001, in a Stanton nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Pat Ray, pastor of Prairie View Baptist Church, officiating and Ray Russell, assisting. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on June 16, 1929 in Big Spring, Texas and married Betty Blissard on May 22, 1948 in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Fryar had live in the area all his life. He had farmed until retiring in 1998 due to his health. His only hobby was his work. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stanton. He had served on the Stanton School Board for 8 years, was a Cap Rock Board member for 20 years, served on the Howard County Fair Association Board, the Soil Conservation Board and the Farm Bureau Board. He was active in civic affairs and was a 4-H and FFA leader. Survivors include two sons, Danny Fryar of Stanton and Steve Fryar of Big Spring; one brother, Dale Fryar of Big Spring; one sister, Ina Faye Kuhlman of Lenorah; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Walker and Venna Mae Daniels Fryar. The family suggests memorials to: the Alzheimer's Association, Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 N. Big Spring, Suite C-32, Midland, Texas 79705. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
