Bernice Nail, 90, formerly of Big Spring, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Bethany, Oklahoma. Graveside services will held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Alan Matthies officiating.She was born November 1, 1927 in Tremont, Mississippi to A. L. and Effie Knight. She was one of eight children.Bernice was a Deputy Sheriff in Big Spring for 27 years. She was a charter member of Berea Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 25 years.Bernice is survived by one sister, Betty Hale; one sister-in-law, Velma Knight of Mississippi; one son, Wayne Nail and wife, Kathryn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Joyce Coleman of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Ronnie Nail and wife, Aimee, John Nail and wife, Leah, Kara Freeman and husband, Chad, and Chad Coleman and wife, Stacia; six great grandchildren, Ross Freeman, Ty Freeman, Hunter Nail, Mia Coleman, Andrew Nail, and Braden Nail; and numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James Knight, Alvin Knight and Lee Arthur Knight; three sisters, Audrey Johnson, Lilly McCarley and Leola Cowart; her husband, E. W.
