Albert "A.C." Pettus, 91, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 14, 2008, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Steven King, pastor of Birdwell Lane Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. He was born on February 2, 1917, in Center Hill, Arkansas and married Effie Norris Willborn February 5, 1941 in Brownfield, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 14, 1996. He then married Bettie Dean Gross Crow on December 21, 1996. Mr. Pettus had served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned and operated Pettus Electric for over 50 years and was a Master Electrician. He was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and had worked with Dr. L.J. Power. He had also pastored at Lockhart Baptist Church in Big Spring, Eastside Baptist Church in Abilene, and was associate pastor of Houston Baptist Temple in Houston working with Rev. Jack Power, Jr. Mr. Pettus was currently a member of Birdwell Lane Baptist Church of Big Spring. Survivors include his wife, Bettie Pettus of Big Spring; one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Beth and Rev. Jack Power, Jr. of Spring; three grandchildren, Gina Gardiner and husband, Terry of Abilene, Danielle Buffin and fiance, Jared Bradshaw of Cache, Oklahoma, and Jacquelyn Howard of Sanger; nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; six step children, Phillip Crow and wife, Diane of Mansfield, Gayla Campbell and husband, Barry and Valarie Prather and husband, David all of Jacksonville, Odis Crow and wife Lisa of Jefferson, Lajuan Sikes and husband, Jerry, and Denise Whitley and husband, David all of Reno, Nevada; fifteen step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Alberteen "Teena" Storniolo; one grandson, Jack Power III; a grand-son-in-law, Martin Parmer; and nine brothers and sisters.
