Adelle Carter Hughston, 84, of Big Spring, died on Friday, April 5, 2002, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Wright of First United Methodist Church, officiating. She was born on October 22, 1917 in Santa Anna, Texas. She married Al Carter, who preceded her in death in 1969, and then married Fred Hughston in 1972. He preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Hughston had been a Big Spring resident since 1946, and owned and operated Elliott Waldron Abstract Company for 40 years. She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include six nephews, Joe E. Parris and Homer Parris both of Abilene, James Meador of Frisco, Eddie Meador of Virginia, Robert Robinson of San Angelo, and Gayland Robinson of Brownwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. The family suggests memorials to: Canterbury Memorial Fund, 1700 S. Lancaster, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
