Travis Marvin Morgan went to be with his Lord on August 22, 2015.He was born on March 14, 1932 to William Oscar Morgan and Mable Reece Morgan. He was raised in Tahoka, Texas and graduated from Tahoka High School in 1949. He met the love of his life, Barbara in 1950 at the skating rink. They married on April 21, 1951. Travis served in the military police in the US Army for two years during the Korean Crisis. After the Army, Travis and Barbara moved to Midland in 1955 and Travis went to work for the US Postal Service. Travis was the treasurer of the Midland Government Employees Federal Credit Union for 20 years. He retired in 1988 from the US Postal Service after over thirty years of service. Travis then became active in NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) where he was treasurer for 17 years.Travis Is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara Morgan, a daughter Laura Morgan and her husband Roger Coughlin, a son Wayne Morgan, a sister Dorothy Walker of Tahoka, Texas and two nephew, Bill (Sue) Cain and Gene (Debbie) Walker. Other special family members include Donald and Kala Shuck, Jacob Shuck, Dawson Hardy, Lorraine Roark, Russell, Jennifer and Haven Jones, and LoraLinda, Genesis and Levi Cruz. Travis was preceded in death by his parents, W.O and Mable Morgan, a brother Dalton Morgan and a sister Lena Evelyn Thompson.A visitation will be held Monday, August 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland. Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park with a memorial service following at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Midland, MD Anderson Cancer Center or a charity of one’s choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
