Orlando “Chito” Tercero passed peacefully from this life the morning of June 15, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was surrounded by his family and caregivers during the last days of his life. His love and friendship were a treasure by many and he will be dearly missed.Orlando was born in Presidio, Texas on May 20, 1934. He married Patsy Gonzales on September 13, 1958 and shared 59 years of devotion and love. He was a devoted father to his 6 children, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Patsy; his children, Orlando Tercero Jr. (Elizabeth) of San Antonio, TX, Dolores Saucedo (Jerry) of Big Spring, TX, Fernando Tercero (Stella) of San Antonio, TX, Sandra Garcia (Oscar) of Big Spring, TX, Andrea Jane Tercero of San Antonio, TX, and Margie Tercero of San Antonio, TX; his siblings, Sulema Navarette, Jane Tercero, Irene Maynard, Homer Tercero, and Merardo Bonilla.Orlando is preceded in death by his father, Juan Tercero, mother, Susana Tercero, and sisters, Lydia Hernandez and Mage Bonilla.Orlando was a long time resident of Big Spring, Texas until 2014 where he moved to San Antonio, Texas with his wife and family. While living in Big Spring, Orlando was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #9130.Orlando graduated from Lewis Barber College in San Antonio in 1961. He was employed at the Webb Air Force Base as a barber until 1977. Orlando was also employed by the Big Spring State Hospital and retired in 2000. His passion was owning and operating Northside Barber Shop until 2014.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 906 Gregg St., Big Spring, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.Pallbearers will be Jerry Saucedo, Michael Tercero, Lee Garcia, Gonzalo Gonzalez, Jesse Hernandez, and Mark Rodriguez.
