Martha June Mitchell, 79 of Midland, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 after an 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Serenity Memorial Gardens.Martha was born July 1, 1939 in Fort Worth, Texas to J.D. and Bertie Bowen. On March 7, 1954 she married Billy Mitchell in Midland, Texas with whom she raised 3 beautiful children.She gave her life to Christ at an early age and kept her faith as a number 1 priority through life, teaching and raising her children and grandchildren in a Godly manner. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, welcoming 2 grandchildren and later 3 great-grandchildren into the world. Her fierce love for her family and spit fire personality will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.Martha loved to sew, so much that she could make just about anything she saw, even without a template. She enjoyed decorating her home during the holidays, especially Christmas, her favorite holiday. Summer breaks were also one of her favorite times, as she and her family would go camping in Colorado.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy Mitchell; children, Nessia and husband Mark Allen, Drew Mitchell and Neal Mitchell; grandchildren, Savannah and Raleigh Allen; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Layla and Emery.She is preceded in death by her mother, Bertie Bowen; and father, J.D. Bowen.The family wishes to extend their sincere and deep gratitude to Manor Park Younger Center, Hospice of Midland, Dr. Robert A. Vogel, Dr. P.J.
