Ellen Loyce Palmer Chasteen passed quietly to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018.Loyce was born on October 31, 1930 in Loraine, Texas to Cullen Bryant and Mary Edna Bennett Palmer. She graduated from Loraine High School in 1948.Loyce married Aubry Ray Chasteen on July 2, 1956 in Grand Prairie, Texas and they spent the next 62 years together. She was a talented seamstress and loved flowers and gardening. She spent her life as a housewife, taking care of children and grandchildren alike. She served alongside Ray in his ministry years, including several mission trips. They enjoyed camping, starting when their children were young, and passed that love of camping on to them.Loyce was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Loyd Palmer and Henry Palmer; her sisters, Louise Butler and Emily Farison; and her son, Ron Chasteen.She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Chasteen Benjamin, of Odessa, Texas; her sons, Hayden Chasteen, and his wife, Vicki, of Grapevine, Texas, and David Chasteen, and his wife, Sheri, of Brownfield, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas with Rev.
