Lloyd Robinson, 84, of Knott, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 in a Big Spring nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.Lloyd was born February 5, 1931 in Big Spring and married Sue White August 1, 1959 in Big Spring.He was a lifelong resident of the Knott Community, graduating from Knott High School in 1948. He attended Howard College and had served in the United States Marine Corps. Lloyd farmed and ranched all of his life in the Knott Community and operated the Knott Station for 25 years.Lloyd was active in Howard County 4-H both as a member and a leader. He served on the State 4-H Council and had shown cattle nationwide. He served on the board of the Farmer's Co-op Gin in Knott; served on the Sands ISD School Board; was a founding board member of Permian Basin Underground Water District and served on the board of Howard County Farm Bureau. Lloyd was a member of First Baptist Church of Knott and served as a deacon for 55 years.He is survived by wife, Sue Robinson of Knott; three sons, Kent Robinson of Knott, Scott Robinson and wife, Leslie of Tarzan and Lance Robinson and wife, Leslea of Ackerly; three grandchildren, Lauren Robinson, Zane Robinson and Sloan Robinson; four sisters, Wanda Roman of Big Spring, Joyce Parker and husband, Bruce of Ackerly, Carol Strong and husband, Curt of Salado and Martha Sparks and husband, Bill of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, T.M. and Ima Durdin Robinson.The family suggests memorials be made to the Heritage Museum, 510 Scurry, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to First Baptist Church of Knott, 718 W.
