Johnnie Christian, 84, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in an Odessa hospital.

The family will be having a private celebration of life at their home.

He was born April 19, 1934 in Alex, Oklahoma and married Peggy Burnett on March 16, 1957 in Big Spring, TX.

Johnnie was married to the love of his life, Peggy Christian, for 61 years. He was in the United States Air Force stationed at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, TX. He had a very exciting life raising 5 boys. Johnnie loved to spend time with his boys outside hunting and fishing. His sense of humor and smile would always bring comfort to those around him. He was a very loving and caring man to everyone around him. He loved to help take care of other people including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Johnnie’s work ethic was an inspiration to those around him. He worked hard for his family all the way up until his illness. He was truly loved by everyone around him and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Christian of Big Spring; five sons, Johnny Christian, of Stewart, TN, Ted Christian and wife,Traci, of Llano, TX, Billy Christian, of Big Spring, TX, Donny Christian and wife, Jackie, of Portland, OR, Tommy Christian and wife, Teresa, of Big Spring, TX,;  his sister, Sandra Siebenthaler of Prescott, AZ.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren and counting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Iler Christian; his brothers, Ted Christian, Lenard Christian, CW Christian, and Andrew Christian; and a sister, Martha Schwab.
