He participated in 10 flight missions in the Pacific Theater and also served in Japan as part of the Occupation Forces. Although he was relatively humble and quiet on the topic of his service, he did share a story that he survived an emergency landing with a bomb stuck in the bomb release. He also enjoyed his poker group, Mobil Retiree Club, and collected Mobil memorabilia. Papa was a dedicated grandfather who attended every sporting event and most Indian Guide campouts. He enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. As a father, he passed on his love of classical music, a strong work ethic, and “finishing what you start” attitude to us.
