Ima Jewell Standefer of Lenorah, Texas passed away on the 2ND of February, 2018.She was born on January 27, 1930 in Hockley County, Texas to Carl and Ora Golden.Jewell graduated from Colorado City, Texas and then went on to nursing school in Big Spring. She started working at the Big Spring Hospital soon after graduation. On a trip to Stanton to go to a dance, she met her life mate, Marvin Standefer.Jewell is survived by her three children, Paula Dillard, Marvin Standefer, Jr. and wife, Amy, and Jimmy David Standefer. She is also survived by her sisters, Tommie Dossey and Judie Davis. Jewell was blessed with her grandkids, Marsha and Joseph Logan, Russell and Sonny Standefer, Melissa Thibodeaux, Summer and Kevin Gray, Jody and Danna Kidd, and Ashley and John McClanahan. Jewell was also blessed to be able to spend time with her 12 great-grandkids.Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Standefer; her parents, Carl and Ora Golden and step-mother, Ruby Golden; her brothers, Paul Raymond Golden and George Golden; and her sisters, Carlene Cramer and Glenda Weatherly.Visitation with the family will be held at Gilbreath Funeral Home, 209 N. St. Charles, Stanton, Texas from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 6, 2018.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton, Texas.The family is asking you to make donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.
