Hellen L. Martin, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. She was a much-loved sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. She was born on May 28, 1945, in Palestine, Texas to Bernice Williams and was a graduate of Clemens High School. Hellen was a strong, independent woman who wore a proud smile on her face. She was a woman of many talents who enjoyed varies occupations throughout her lifetime. Hellen never had any children; however, her adopted canine child “Frisky” gave her plenty to do. Hellen was a genuine, kind-hearted woman who loved life and her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Williams, Stepfather L.T. Williams, Brother John Williams, Sisters; Fay Golightly and Clara “Jean” Young. She is survived by two sisters; Bettie Lockridge of Levelland, and Ann Williams of Neches. Nieces and nephews; LaWanda Norman (David) of Amherst, Sonja Polk of Levelland, Dial Young (Michelle) of Midland, Tony Golightly of Phoenix, Genor Golightly of Levelland, Genora Golightly of Levelland, Nathaniel Lockridge (Rosanna) of Levelland, Andre Young (Kym) of Midland, LaToya Williams of Midland, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Located on 3800 N. Big Spring Street.
