Harvey Blowe passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on June 16, 2018 at the age of 74. He was born July 1, 1943, in Hopewell, Virginia to James Edward Blowe and Verale Hill Blowe.\tHarvey graduated from El Paso Technical High School in 1964 and enlisted in the Army at Fort Bliss where he served the country he loved until 1968. After his time in the Army, Harvey became the store manager for Piggly Wiggly and this is where he met the love of his life Josephine Duran. In 1978, Harvey moved his family to Midland, Texas where he became a postman and an office clerk for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 2004.\tHarvey’s hobbies included being the lead singer and dancer of a band called The Ambassador’s where he played at many venues and earned an award for Rock N Roll battle of the bands. He also enjoyed being a Cub Scout Leader for his sons’ troop for the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping with family and friends and was the master of cooking his specialty of brisket and ribs.\tHarvey asked to share with you, one of his favorite bible verses. Psalms 23:4\tLeft to cherish his memory is his lovely wife of 41 years, Josephine Blowe; his children, Harvey Wallace of Houston, Texas, Rachemia Blowe (Stephen) of Midland, Texas and their two children, Joshua and Gregory, Maliaka Curd (Ronald) of Dallas, Texas and their three children, Eric Gongora, Savoy Curd and Savion Curd and James Blowe (Shea) of Midland, Texas and their children, Gavin Whitis, Emmy Blowe, Mason Vandergrift and Makenna Vandergrift; sister, Jane Blowe Cutrell (Matthew) of El Paso, Texas; brothers, Michael Blowe (Petrina) of Riverview, Florida, and Maurice Tillis of El Paso, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.\tHarvey was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, John Blowe and Joseph Blowe.The family would like to thank Hospice of Midland for giving Harvey the loving care and compassion during his final days here on earth. We are grateful for your exceptional staff of nurses who comforted and cared for all of us.\tThe family will accept guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel.
