Elizabeth “Liz” Mace (Adam) Henderson was born November 6, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri to Hugh Harrison Mace and Else Grossart Mace. Liz passed away on November 26, 2015 at the age of 83.Liz grew up in Belleville, Illinois and was valedictorian of Belleville Township High School in 1950. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in elementary education with high honors. She was selected as a member of Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta and Torch, and served as Chapter President of Kappa Kappa Gamma.She taught school in California and Oklahoma before moving to Midland in 1959. On October 14, 1965, she married William L. Adam; he preceded her in death in 1996. She and James C. Henderson were married February 15, 1999. She enjoyed travelling the United States and the world, playing bridge, laughter, and her friends and family.In Midland, she was a member and former President of Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae, Midland City Panhellenic, Midland County Republican Women’s Club, Heritage Study Club and Contemporary Study Club. She served on the Midland City Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustments and was a former board member of the Midland-Odessa Symphony Guild and R.S.V.P.Liz was a volunteer for Hospice Midland and VALs at the Midland County Library. Liz managed the Midland County Republican Headquarters for many years and worked during early voting at the Midland County Elections Office. She served on the Symphony Guild and Symphony Boards and was a Symphony Singer. She was a long time member of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity. She was active at the Midland Community Theatre as well and was an honorary life member of Hamhocks. She and her late husband, William (Bill) Adam, were very active in the theatre, writing one Mummers play and acting in many. They received the Summer Mummers Distinguished Service Award in 1996.Liz was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Else Mace; her brother David Mace; her husband Bill Adam, and is succeeded by her beloved husband, Jim Henderson; her son, Phil Dolbow, his wife Sheila and their sons Daniel, Michael and Joey Seeger of Liberty Hill, TX, and Phil’s daughter Miranda Dolbow and her daughter Ellie Hoffman of Midland, TX; daughter Julie Crosby of Midland, Texas and Julie’s daughters Meghan Moss of Midland, TX, Colleen Moss of Houston, TX and Hailey Crosby of Midland; step-son Curt Henderson and his wife Kim and their sons Russell, Will and Max of Midland; sister in-law, Dee Mace of Belleville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service is pending at The Episcopal Church of Holy Trinity. Memorial contributions in the memory of Liz can be made to Hospice Midland, The American Heart Association, the Midland ASPCA or charity of choice.,
