David Allen Hitchcock, 49, of Midland, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018.He was the youngest son of Allen Stewart Hitchcock (deceased) and Susie Hitchcock-Hall. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on Father’s Day, June 16, 1968. He graduated from Midland High School in 1987.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Marjorie Hitchcock; maternal grandparents, Deloss and Mary Lee Grayson; his father, Allen Stewart Hitchcock; and his step-father, Mike Hall.He is survived by his mother, Susie Hitchcock-Hall of Midland; his brother, Andrew Hitchcock (Andrea) of Lubbock; sons, Dylan Hitchcock of Lubbock and Tanner Hitchcock of Midland; aunts, Nancy Hitchcock Seple (Ed) of Austin, and Dede Gray of Plano; nephew, Stewart Hitchcock of Lubbock; and cousin, Stephanie Poyo (Jeremy) of Dallas.David was a tremendous help and influence to help run Susie’s South Forty Confections here in Midland. He was very outgoing and he never met a stranger he didn’t touch with his optimism and enthusiasm. High energy, he was always ready for a good time, especially if it involved music and dancing! David loved to dance! He traveled to various music concerts, never missing an AC/DC concert.He treasured his many friends, especially his best buddies, David Szuba and Tommy Yorkman.He lived in Hawaii for a while, and returned as often as possible. You can just picture him running down the beach, wearing his big, broad smile, stopping to engage everyone on the beach and their dogs, leaving them smiling. His exuberance was so contagious.He rarely went out without his loyal dog, Chumblee and his newest one, Muffkin.He loved Snoopy, collecting rare prints and recently traveled to Denver to meet the artist.It was recently said about David “He was the kind of person that you always looked forward to being around, because of the joy that he made me feel”.He left a wide path of people he met better than they were, even if momentarily, having just seeing his quick and genuine smile!Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society at 2304 W.
