- Robert Lee Hicks, 81, of Midland, Texas, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 5110 N. Garfield in Midland, with Pastor Carroll Kohl, officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
He was born on February 7, 1929, in Comanche, Texas to Harvey A. and Artie Mae (Burdette) Hicks. Mr. Hicks married Doris Hoak on August 27, 1971. Robert owned Basin Testers in Big Spring. He was in the Korean Conflict and was a Radar Technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Blake Hicks, two sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include wife, Doris Hicks of Midland, Texas; daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & Mike Pitkin; daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Larry Abalos; son, Brad Hicks; Step daughter, Joyce Terk; Step daughter, Patricia & Sig Cornelius; step son, Terry & Cathy Hoak; sister & brother-in-law, Molene & Arlis Easley; sister & brother-in-law, Robbie & Earl Ripley; sister & brother-in-law, Jean & Clarence Schultz; brother & sister-in-law, Jackie & Mary Jane Hicks; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
