Lottie Haley Eubanks joined her Savior, family, and friends on February 25, 2010 in Midland, Texas. She is now at peace and no longer suffers from years of pain and complications due to severe osteoporosis. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. David Johnson officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, Texas at 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at the First Methodist Church in Poteet. Viewing will be held on Sunday at the funeral home in Midland, 3800 N. Big Spring St.
Lottie was born on January 25, 1915, in Rayland, Texas, near Vernon, to James and Effie Jordan. In 1933, the family moved to Poteet, Texas, where Lottie attended school. In 1938, Lottie married W.W. "Chic" Haley and they had two children, O.C and Nadine.
Shortly before her marriage, Lottie began working as an office girl for Dr. Chester Shotts. This experience would lead her to pursue an LVN and begin a career as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Jourdanton, Texas.
During this time, Lottie was an active member of Poteet First Methodist Church, and would later receive an honorary life-time membership from the Women's Society of Christian Service.
In 1979, Lottie went to Midland, Texas on a nursing case and fell in love with the city. She decided to make it her home. She met and married a wonderful man, Ed Eubanks, and became a long-standing member of First Baptist Church. During their 13 year marriage, the couple was able to travel extensively around the world before Ed's passing in 2001.
To her grandchildren and great grandchildren she was known affectionately as 'Memi'. And to all who knew her, she will be remembered as a compassionate Christian, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a caring friend. Besides putting her children and grandchildren above all else, she showed great kindness and was a loyal friend to shut-ins and neighbors alike. She enjoyed cooking and would many times take meals to those who needed it the most.
Besides cooking, her favorite pastime was watching football and she remained an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. One of her favorite memories was receiving an autographed photo of Bob Stoops on her 90th birthday.
Lottie's children would like to thank the Yellow Rose Christian Home for their continual love, care, and patience shown to their mother. Also Dr. McClary and the Nurses of Home Hospice deserve much praise for the love and care given to their mother and the great kindness shown to the children.
Preceding her in death are her parents, one sister, Willa Mae Scheulter, and four brothers, Bill, Luke, Wade, and J.B. Jordan.
She is survived by one sister, Lucille Selle of Hondo, Texas, one son, O.C. Haley and wife Johanna of San Marcos, Texas, one daughter, Nadine Powell of Midland, Texas, two grandsons, Randy Reed of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Rusty Reed and wife Elissa of Plano, Texas, and three great grandchildren, Cassidy Reed of Knoxville, and Madilyn and Jake Reed of Plano.

In lieu on flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 2104 W. Louisiana, Midland, TX 79701 or to Home Hospice, 901 W. Missouri Ave. Midland, TX or to a charity of your choice.
