- Anna Beth Graham Zachry, 76, of Midland, passed away on February 23, 2010 at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday February 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 26, 2010 at Greenwood Baptist Church, with Brother Wayman Swopes and Rev. Terry Easley, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Anna Beth was the third of six children born to Bethel and Ernestine Graham. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Anna Beth accepted Jesus as her Savior and Lord at a young age and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Midland. After her marriage, she and Henry were active members there. From Calvary, they joined Bellview Baptist Church and served there until they moved to the Greenwood Community.
At Greenwood Baptist Church, Anna Beth served as a pianist and organist. She had a deep love for all gospel music, old and new.
She was active in the Women's Missionary Union and at times joined her husband in local and out of state mission endeavors. She taught Sunday School and helped in the Vacation Bible Schools throughout the years. More recently, before her illness, she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels with her beloved sister-in-law Vera Zachry and enjoyed their fellowship and lunches together.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. It must be noted that Anna Beth had a lifelong passion for "anything chocolate". Therefore, her family made sure she had something chocolate on hand at all times.
Anna Beth was a quiet, gentle woman of deep faith, always putting others first, and preferring to be in the background when helping others. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be David Lucas, Darrell Lucas, Marvin Graham, Mark Graham, Mike Zachry, Keith Jobe, Rodger Burrow, and Vance Borrow.
Survivors include her daughter, Lavera and husband Roger Nixon of Midland; son, Howard and wife Lourie Zachry of Midland; two grand daughters, Shawna and husband Robert Heard of Stanton and Elizabeth and husband Justin Hill of Wichita Falls; two great grandsons, Zachary Kidd and A.J. Heard of Stanton; two sisters, Betty Burrow of Hawley, TX; Joyce and husband Jimmy Lynn Lucas of Midland; and brother, Roy and wife Sharon Graham of Midland; numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry of 52 years, her parents Ernestine and Bethel Graham, two brothers Clayte and Ronnie Graham.
