Lewis Thomason James

Lewis Thomason James, 73, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit of Midland Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, at 2:30 PM at First Calvary Baptist Church in Sanderson, Texas with Brother Paul Ray and Jarret Corder officiating.

Lewis was born on October 1, 1936, in Anthony, New Mexico to Noel and Josephine Lawdermilk James. On August 18, 1957 he married the love of his life, Lacey Eggleston, in Terrell County, Texas. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked as a rancher, a gunsmith and a welder for 50 years in Dryden, Texas He was a member of the First Calvary Baptist Church in Sanderson, Texas.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lacey James of Midland; 2 daughters, Joanna Thomason and her husband, Keith of Midland; Lori Cravey and her husband, Doug of San Angelo; a grandson, Jim Wyche of Midland; 2 granddaughters, Shonda Blodgett of Richland Springs; Shayna Grant of San Saba; 3 great grandsons, Reid Blodgett of Richland Springs; T.J. and Tyler Grant of San Saba; and many friends and loved ones.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Josephine James.
