- Allen Ray Young, 50, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Robert Turner, minister, officiating. Private family interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock
Allen was born on May 22, 1959, in Big Spring, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and attended Big Spring Schools. He had worked as a journeyman electrician for Bailey Electric for 20 years and then for the last eleven years he worked in the maintenance department for the Big Spring Independent School District. He was a member of the Big Spring Bass Club and was an avid hunter, fisherman, motorcyclist, and woodworker.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Young of Big Spring; one sister, Brenda Martin and one brother, Bruce Young both of Lubbock; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; three aunts; seven uncles, and many friends.
