- June Grace "June Bug" Hambrice, 87, of Big Spring, died on Friday, February 12, 2010, at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Doug Shelley, with Crossroads Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born on February 27, 1922, in Dallas, Texas to Chester and Ruth Williams and married Richard P. Hambrice on October 8, 1970 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1992.
June served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II and had lived most of her life in San Angelo, Amarillo and Big Spring. June Bug, as she was known, loved to cook, crochet and embroider and was a good christian with a big heart, had the gift of gab and loved life.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Arndt and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Goode both of Janesville, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Amber Goode, Aaron Goode and Catherine Goode all of Janesville, Wisconsin and Scheryl Cazarez of Lawton, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Marion Goode, Sierra Cazarez and McKenna Goode; two cousins, Della and Freddie Cook of Maryland and Ira and Patty England of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Goode, Jr.; one daughter, Allie Ruth Goode; two brothers, Dan Williams and Ira Williams; and one grandson, Michael Shane Goode.
