- Voy W. Eason, Jr., 62, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, February 11, 2010, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Paige Baize and Rev. Larry Miles, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born on August 20, 1947, in Childress, Texas and married Jane Smith on June 8, 1966 in Spur, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2006.
Voy was a proud American who served in the United States Army. He was an outdoorsman and loved riding horses and motorcycles. He also loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of the NRA, Western Sportsman's Gun Club, and the Working Ranch Horse Association.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Eason and Thomas "Skeet" Eason both of Big Spring; two grandsons, Justin Ryan Eason and Blake Alan Eason; one granddaughter, Bergan Jane Eason; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Jo Lynn Eason of Corpus Christi, Mike and Barbara Eason of Childress, Danny and Sandy Eason of Cleburne, and James "Jim Bo" Eason of Childress; one sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Danny Soto of Childress; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Voy was also preceded in death by his parents and one son, Timothy Lee Eason.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Carolyn Brooks, P.O. Box 2121, Big Spring, Texas 79721-2121.
