- Thomas "Tommy" Whiddon, 67, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Midland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 12, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Rev. Bob Porterfield, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
Tommy was born November 24, 1942 in Paint Rock, Texas to Ora and Thomas Whiddon. He married Cynthia Brown on June 15, 1965 in Abilene, Texas.
Tommy grew up and was raised in Ballinger and San Angelo. He moved to Midland in 1965. He worked most of his life as the maintenance manager for most of the Midland downtown offices. He served at the YMCA and Midland College. He loved fishing and watching NASCAR races and he loved his dogs. He fought a courageous battle with various illnesses since 1995.
Survivors include wife, Cynthia of Midland; mom, Ora Mae Beene of Midland; sister, Flora Belle Dingus of Mesquite; daughter, Stacie Hardin and husband Wesley of Midland; grandchildren, LCPL Cary Farrington and wife Laura of North Carolina, Hailey Farrington and husband Nicholas Kirkpatrick, Tyler Farrington and Myranda Hardin, all of Midland; great-grandchildren, Catelyn Kirkpatrick, Carli Kirkpatrick and Kara Farrington; and dogs, Tiny, Peanut and Cutie Pie.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Farrington, Cary Farrington, Tarry Farrington, Wesley Hardin, Nick Kirkpatrick and Randy Watts.
