Dorothy Carlson, 79, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the Stanton Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a home maker, a resident of the Midland community for 50 years and a member of the Fairmont Park Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home of Midland from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Fairmont Park Church of Christ with Scott Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at Resthaven Cemetery in Brady, Texas.
Dorothy was born on July 9, 1930, in Brady, Texas, to Norman and Effie Hall Germany. She married the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Clarence Carlson, on December 22, 1949 in her hometown. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading her bible and attending the ladies bible class at church. She loved to laugh and encouraged forgiveness. She loved and accepted everyone for who they are and had a gift for seeing the good in everyone. She enjoyed baking but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who called her Memaw.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Clarence Carlson of Midland; son, Lynn Carlson and his wife, Becky of Midland; son, Steve Carlson and his wife, Sabrina of Midland; granddaughter, Carlisa Murray of Greenwood; granddaughter, Mandi Porter and her husband, Keith of Midland; granddaughter, Kyla Berta and husband, Michael of Gardendale; granddaughter, Liz McAdams of Midland; granddaughter, Ashley Carlson of Fort Worth; grandson, Chase McAdams of Austin; grandson, Cory Carlson of Brownfield;
granddaughter, Britney Arceneaux and her husband, Joshua of Midland; granddaughter, Lachelle Wade of Midland; great granddaughter, JayLynn Murray of Greenwood, great grandson, Braden Gray of Greenwood; great granddaughter, Sara Ward of Midland; great grandson, Brandon Porter of Midland; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Berta of Odessa; great grandson, Dylan Davis of Fort Worth; great granddaughter, Lillie Carlson of Brownfield; great granddaughter, Natalie Arceneaux of Midland; her sister, Nadine Davis of Brownwood; her sister Estelle Cary of Eden; her brother, Richard Germany and his wife, Deanna of Magnolia; plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sammy Underwood.
